Victoria’s education and training institutes  are world class, with nine  world class research based universities  and 14 tertiary training institutes (TAFEs) located in the state. Four Victorian Universities are dual-sector institutions , having both  a TAFE division and a university.The quality of Victoria’s educational programs, and the respect in which our institutions are held, have translated into a mature international education industry in our state equal to the best in the world.

Our education system is widely acknowledged as world leading: 

• University education  is ranked third in Asia-Pacific region  (2008 World Competitiveness Yearbook).
• The Times  Higher Education Supplement 2008 rated both  University of Melbourne and Monash  University amongst the top 50 universities  globally. 
• MBA courses  based in Melbourne have been ranked  amongst the world’s best by the Financial Times World Top 100 in 2008, and the Economist Top 100 MBA in 2008.
