Knoxfield-based company Ecotech specialises in ambient air and emissions monitoring, offering equipment and services to pinpoint problems and propose solutions. With distributors in over fifty countries, Ecotech exports their products and services to every continent, including Antarctica.

"Supplying such an enormous international market certainly keeps us busy,” says Ecotech’s General Manager, Nicholas Dal Sasso, “but we’re always ready for new opportunities”.

In 1990 Ecotech began exporting overseas. Their market is specialised, therefore the company was challenged within the domestic market. To grow Ecotech needed to head overseas.

Ecotech’s first international foray was made possible with Victorian Government assistance.  The company took advantage of grants and programs through the Victorian Government’s Opening Doors to Export initiative to get things up and running. Eighteen years later, Ecotech maintains a close relationship with the Victorian Government by participating in trade shows and networking events to keep expanding their customer base. In 2006 the company won the Small to Medium Manufacturer category in the Governor of Victoria Export Awards, an accolade firmly cementing Ecotech’s place on the world map and commanding respect and recognition from high profile exporters.  

Nicholas maintains that the company could never have achieved as much internationally without assistance from the Victorian Government.

“Exporting overseas has been extremely successful for Ecotech. We’re a stronger company in terms of the depth of our knowledge and the quality of our product. We’re also more robust. We’re not reliant on just one market anymore.”
